MESSAGE FROM THE CBB DIRECTOR
Welcome to the Centre for Biorecognition and Biosensors. We hope that this site gives you a clear picture of who we are and what we do. We are very proud of the team that we have in place.
At the CBB, we aspire to work with those who are or will become leaders and shapers in the creation and innovation in nanostructured biorecognition systems and biomaterials being used in diagnostic tools for medical, agricultural and environmental applications. This can mean having important collaborative ventures among the researchers from the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Biology and Anatomy, Microbiology, Mining and Metal Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics and Electrical Engineering, and McGill-affiliated hospitals as well as with other member institutions namely Université de Montréal, École Polytechnique de Montréal, Université de Laval, Université de Sherbrooke and industrial partners.
The key is not current size or profitability but scale of ambition and the potential to succeed. With the support of interdisciplinary research, we can truly deliver on our mission to be a leader in knowledge management that supports the effective transfer of new biomedical technologies from research to clinical practice, industry, regulators and users.
I personally am passionately committed to ensuring that the CBB makes a real difference in the scientific environment. I have seen us make a strong start in achieving this goal. I hope that, as you learn more about the CBB, you will come to believe that we might collaborate together, both to make your enterprise more successful and to provide to the CBB an opportunity to promote excellence in research in nanostructured biorecognition systems in Quebec and in Canada.
